Allen "Rusty" Russell Gerhardt (August 13, 1950) is an American former professional baseball player who played twenty-three games for the San Diego Padres in 1974. Gerhardt was named "Sandlot Player of the Year" by the National Baseball Congress in 1970[1] while attending Clemson University. He was drafted by the Padres in the 12th round of the 1972 amateur draft. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland.
